                              2012 GENERAL RULES

1. BOARD has final desion except for a rule change.

2. JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL (on track).

3. A certified weight and points system will be in effect. NO vehicle will be awarded points unless
membership dues and insurance fees are paid.(points will begin at this time)

4. Membership dues are $20 per year, insurance fees are $20 per vehicle. Each member will be
responsible for the sale 1/2 page ad in the hookin and pullin book, at the first event, before hooking
they will be required to pay membership dues and membership fees, a $20 late fee per member will
be assessed if paid after the first event. Pullers will be allowed to compete for a one day
membership fee of $10 per event per vehicle with a maximum of 5 events, with NO point awarded.

5. A sticker will be issued for each class stating driver number and number and size of weights,
inches of fuel, RPM limit allowed, tire size and make. All stickers will be affixed to the right front end
of tractor or windshield of trucks.

6. Any changes made will require a recertification, to re certify, two tractors will be used to set the
scale.

7. A set of scales should be available before and after the pull.

8. All tracks for pulling contestant should be a minimum of 200 feet and maximum of 320 feet where
allowed, with an area at the end for shut down to kept open at all times.

9. All pulls to start with a tight hitch, NO jerking.

10. Number 1 puller in each class will be the test puller and may take the hook if the sled is set, or
they may immediately take a second hook or they must either hook 3rd or last.

11. All contestant will have two chances to start the sled within an 100 foot pit area, In the event of a
pull off there will be only one attempt to complete the pass, pull will terminate when forward motion
ends, In the event of a pull off the contestants must hook or they will be disqualified. I n event of a
contestants pulling vehicle has broken to where another hook will cause more damage it will be
listed last in the pull off.

11. If a vehicle goes out of bounds, the pull will be terminated and measured a the point of first out of
bounds,If the puller stop on the signal of the judge, If the puller continues a disqualification will result
(track signs are out of bounds).

12. No one allowed on track except track judge, contestant, and or track official.(NO support vehicles
or coaches)

13. Any trial runs will be made after the completion of the entire class with the IFPA board, sled
operator, and promoters permission.

14a. All pulling vehicles will subject to inspection by the IFPA directors or tech committee before and
after each pull. Vehicle that do not meet IFPA rules will be subject to disqualification.
14b. The board has the right to internally inspect any new entry or certification of any class at any
time.

15. Any protest being made must be made before pulling vehicle leaves the track.

16. Tech committee or IFPA board will have the power to enforce the rules and settle disputes over
disqualifications, Any repeat infractions will result in a one year disqualification from the time of the
infraction.

17. Contestants must remain seated and remain in an upright position and KEEP ONE HAND ON THE
STEERING WHEEL at all times. Vehicle must be operated in a safe manner on and off the track. No
passengers. Pulling vehicles must be attended at all times while engine is runnning.

18. Any vehicle operated in an unsafe manner, with foul language or excessive use of alcohol will be
grounds for disqualification, No alochol allowed on track.

19. Driver will place pulling vehicle in NEUTRAL and have foot
OFF clutch while hooking or unhooking
from the sled.

20. All weights shall be secured to the pulling vehicle. Any weight lost during a measured hook will
result in an disqualification. No weights allowed on platform, seat, or in the cab and weight shall not
interfere with hooking of sled.

21. Excessive loss of liquid from vehicle will be cause for termination of the pull by the track judge
and the distance will be measured at that point.

22. A vehicle may not be entered in the same class more than once and is limited to 3 classes per
event.

23.All tractors must have hood and fenders(if so equipped from the factory) and must be as close to
original as possible.

24. All vehicles must have working brakes.

25. All tractors must have factory equipped governors and must be operative.

26. All forms of nitromethane(including nitrous oxide and propylene) are illegal as fuel. NO LP,
ice,water alcohol, or pressurized tanks of any kind allowed. LP will be allowed as a primary
fuel.(Alcohol allowed in IFPA trucks and 8,500lb open classes)

27. No front wheel assist tractors, steel wheels, dual tires, or chains.

28.All tractors must have tip over bars. Tip over bars must extend a minimum of 32 inches behind the
center of the rear axle and be a minimum of 20 inches apart. Pads must be a minimum of 5 inches
square and must not be more than 10 inches off the ground. Tip over bars must be able to support
the tractor when a jack is placed under them and are subject to IFPA approval.

29. Kill switches and air shut offs for diesel powered vehicles Will be required for all IFPA entries.

30. Anyone protesting the legality of a pulling vehicles engine will be required to put a $250 tear down
fee. If the vehicle is found to be in violation the protester will retain the $250 and the violation vehicle
and member will be disqualified for one year from the violation. If the vehicle is found to be legal the
protestee will receive the $250.

31. All rules will be strictly enforced. Any question on the legality of a vehicle, PLEASE consult a tech
or board member to resolve any issues.

32. Track judge will come within the IFPA membership.

33. Electric fans are required on all pulling vehicle.

34. NO intercoolers, aftercoolers or cooling devices for the air or fuel of any kind. 10,500# and
11,500# classes will be required to run ag type manifolds. (the 540 perkins engine may run  IFPA
approved  homemade exaust manifolds) .

35. All tractors must have functioning RPM monitoring device, approved by the IFPA. ALL tractors
must must have a Two prong 120v tach plug. (Gordyville Style)

36. Side shields are required for Pro Farm and Modifeid Farm tractors

37. All vehicles must be equipped with balancer retainer.

38. All tractors, 114" maximum wheel base.

39. All gas trucks must have electric fuel shut offs.

40. Seat belts are Recommended.

41. ALL VEHICLES, hooking eye must measure 3 1/2" deep and 3" wide.
